Community Pharmacy - Now Hiring!
The Community Pharmacy is hiring a part-time floating Staff Pharmacist. Shifts are M-F from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM. Our staff pharmacists earn competitive compensation.
Demonstrates knowledge of Medicare fraud, waste, and abuse training requirements, HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act), DMEPOS (durable medical equipment point-of-sale) billing procedure, pseudoephedrine sale requirements, PMP and pharmacy dispensing software. Maintains records, reports, statistics, and budgetary information for administration and regulatory review. Assures compliance with established standards and regulatory requirements. Participates in Pharma 340 projects and public relations programs, patient surveys, and community education as requested. Maintains professional growth and development. Carry out other responsibilities as required. Frequently performs duties of other department personnel. Compounds, labels, and packages medications and pharmaceuticals. Advises patients and family on use of various medications including dosage, side effects and composition. Ensures secure storage of narcotics and other controlled substances on a regular basis. Checks stock to identify and reorder outdated stock and ensure that stock is maintained in accordance with manufacturer requirements. Available to review medication profiles for medication compatibility and advise on alternate medication therapy. Identifies symptom management medications, which will be covered under the hospice Medicare benefit to be determined relative to the patient's diagnosis. Oriented to Hospice philosophy. Ensures accurate maintenance of patient's medical record and that patient records are treated as confidential information. Promotes good intra and inter communications and relationships at all times. Attends meetings as required. Satisfactorily qualifies for the position through an Iowa Criminal History/Dependent Adult Abuse check within the limits of applicable laws. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree
- Management Experience: Supervisory experience required
- Training or background: Completion of pharmacy program from accredited school. Pharmacist License and registration in the State of Iowa
